About

The ordinary life of a blind guy and his (partially) seeing wife.

I was born and raised in Santa Clarita, California, with vision. I always assumed I’d be successful, not that I knew what success was, I was 8. That’s when catching a ball or seeing the sign for the restroom started to get difficult.

By 6th grade I was legally blind. Drs didn’t know it at the time, but this was thanks to Stargardts, a gene both my parents were carriers for, unbeknownst to them. On a Monday, I participated in a group computer exercise at school, and by Friday, I couldn’t see the screen well enough to participate. The school counselor told me not to worry; there were tons of state programs that could help as I got older.

That was the day I fell in love with proving people wrong, hard rock and making money. 20 years later, I’m a happily married tech Sales Executive, looking to help people enjoy life like I have, despite blindness.

Blindinary is the story of overcoming the burdens we all face, big and small, to do (extra)ordinary things.

For those who are visually impaired, you’ll find tips for being blind and how to navigate this unclear world. For those in a relationship or friends with a blind person, you’ll find tips for living with a blind person.
